TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 2ND, 2026!
Audio Guide features a sextet put together by piano player and composer Sondre Moshagen, known from amongst other projects his critically acclaimed Lightning trio. On this project he has gathered some of his favorite musicians from the Norwegian jazz and improv scene.
The music is pictorial, inspired by the program music of Romanticism, and draws inspiration from the avant-garde, classical impressionism, singer-songwriter and cubism. The compositions challenge expectations in various ways regarding the relationship between composed and improvised musical material in a modern, improvising ensemble, and move between the beautiful and painful, to the dissonant and outrageous.
The musicians, all very active voices on the European scene, color the music with character and energy, and come together in a dynamic and contrasting soundscape. Flute, trombone and alto saxophone as a sonic expansion of the timeless piano trio format provide room for unique orchestrations and a versatile sound palette.
