Røed Quartet is a modern jazz ensemble playing original tunes rooted in the golden era of the 1960s. Led by Norwegian saxophonist Aksel Røed the band features Swedish drummer Cornelia Nilsson (Aaron Parks), the lyrical Lyder Røed (FIEH, Slow is the New Fast) on trumpet and flugelhorn, and steadfast Ola Høyer (Cortex, Moon Relay) on the doublebass. The group delivers energetic and deeply musical interplay. The band was intended for the Tedansfestival in 2024, and later recorded their debut album «Red Nose Hymn», set for relea eon May 22nd on Sauajazz. The band has played a number of concerts and for their performance at Nattjazz in Bergen in 2025, Audun Vinger claimed it to be «Perfect in the moment jazz!»
